Beginning in 1990, Dr. Steven Margolis gained national recognition for his pioneering approach to managing lipid disorders, as he became Michigan’s first board-certified Lipidologist. Currently, Dr. Margolis serves as the Medical Director of the Cholesterol Treatment Center. This center — certified by the prestigious American Board of Clinical Lipidology — features cutting-edge advanced cholesterol screening, which predicts early heart disease years before it shows up on a stress test, catheterization, or CT scan.

Dr. Margolis received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and attended the Wayne State University School of Medicine for his medical degree. Dr. Margolis completed his residency in Family Practice at William Beaumont Hospital in Troy. In the early 90s, Dr. Margolis became certified by the American Heart Association and was the first to bring advanced cholesterol screening technology to Macomb County. His work is widely renowned, and he has made several media appearances on TV (ABC, Fox, NBC) and in print (Men's Health, Prevention, Bottom Line Health, Detroit News, Detroit Free Press, Macomb Daily, USA Today).

Never straying far from his roots, Dr. Margolis also presently serves as a Clinical Instructor for Family Practice at both the Wayne State University School of Medicine and the William Beaumont Hospital in Troy Michigan.
